Although one does not necessarily notice this fact in our busy lives, walking through a dull, drab and boring hallway can seem like a tiresome exercise that can actually fill your head with the same kind of thoughts. To make the walk along a narrow hallway, seem like a walk through a museum, interesting artifacts collected from various places can be placed one after the other along the length of the wall. These can be highlighted with the help of overhead lights with the spotlight focused on these objects. Such an arrangement will impress the onlooker and keep him occupied in discovering what comes next on the wall.
An interesting display of pictures clicked over the years or a collection of artistic photographs can also be placed covering the entire wall along the hallway. These pictures are sure to bring a smile to the onlookers face and keep him occupied as he traverses the length of the hallway. Small, potted plants placed here and there lend a touch of vibrancy to the place.
Mirrors placed in a hallway not only make the place look wider but also beautify the hallway. Mirrors with interesting visual effects can be placed along the wall, one after the other. These will help keep the viewer amused and eager to discover what kind of an effect the next mirror on the wall will display.
An object that can be the focal point can be placed at the end of the corridor so that it can be viewed as the destination by the person starting out from one end of the hallway. This can be in the form of a small table with a decorative showpiece placed on top or a big, painted pot. With the end in sight, it is easier to pace the length of the hall.
The flooring also plays an important role in crossing a long, narrow hallway successfully. The floor should not be made of a slippery material on which it is difficult and not entirely risk-free to walk fast. It is best to place a narrow carpet covering the length of the entire floor from start to end. This forms a kind of a path along which a person should walk which hurries up his progress.
